The Modern Rack and Pinion
The Racktuator is an outstanding example of how Myostat Motion Control brings modern control technology and established engineering principles together to create a unique solution for your machine.
The Racktuator, in the 11 and 17 size, comes with a tubular rack finished to your specifications for dispensing, vacuum, and pipetting operations. The rack and pinion mounted directly to the the Cool Muscle creates an extremely fast linear system with surprisingly high accuracies.
The mechanical basis of the Racktuator may be ancient, but the manufacturing and materials are leading edge. The Pinion gear and the bushing of this system are made from PEEK polymer, which means that there are no lubricants in the system that can cause contamination. The entire system has been tested to 5 million cycles under load, with no lubricant.
For higher strength applications, the Racktuator can be supplied with either a solid rack, metal pinion, or in the 23 size.
